Mr. Hassan is also the Program Director at World Alliance for Decentralized Energy (WADE). He has a background in corporate, public and non-profit sectors. Syed specializes in sourcing finance for development projects that directly impact and improve the socio-economic conditions for developing countries. He provides market opportunities for technologies from developed nations. Syed has been involved in several multi-stakeholder efforts in a number of developing countries and international development agencies focusing on energy, health, education, climate change, economics and social development. His current focus is initiating a multi-stakeholder agreement to implement Thorium as a green, affordable and sustainable energy source. He has worked in the Middle East energy sector where he was instrumental in forming the strategy and arranging financing for a 1240 MW Power Project, which was at the time, the largest independent power project initiated by World Bank.. Syed has also served as Advisor and Consultant to the World Bank and the Agency for International Development. He has an in-depth understanding and knowledge of international business and the geopolitical context of the Middle East. Syed holds degrees in Economics and Political Science and speaks at global conferences on Energy and socio-economic issues.
